Quip doesn't think you're incapable of healthy and safe oral hygiene practices, they just think the way you're currently doing it is all wrong. And completely jacking up your teeth and gums. They'd like to help. Teach you when to brush, how to brush, and for how long. And 'Quip you with all the tools you'll need to do it.

Quip is a full-service brushing program. Its hardware includes a low-profile electric toothbrush, replaceable brush heads, an AAA battery, and toothpaste. Supplemental services consist of regular toothbrushing and oral health guidelines and tips, plus a mail order service that will send you replacement brush heads and more toothpaste. Automatically if you sign up for that option.

Quip believes we kinda suck at good brushing habits because all of the newfangled 8-speed Cadillac toothbrushes give us the impression that they're going to do all the work for us, while we just stand there and let 'er rip. Quip tries to counter this misnomer, first, with a slim electric toothbrush fitted with vibrating brush heads.

The Quip toothbrush is simple, made of a CNC'd aluminum handle and 1,200 soft DuPont nylon bristles (no enamel-eradicating medium or hard options) inserted into 34 tufts. It doesn't look too different from a manual brush. Its electric motor pulses every 30 seconds during use to prompt even tooth cleaning, and stops at 2 minutes when the recommended brushing time is up. The brush runs on a rechargeable or replaceable AAA battery, said to last for 3 months, or the same amount of time Quip recommends using each brush head.

Those who subscribe to Quip's delivery program will receive new brush heads every 3 months, along with a new rechargeable battery (if they want) and Quip fluoride toothpaste. You can also order refills on an as-needed basis. Quip will also spit out regular tips on brushing routine and technique. For example, while they recommend rinsing off the brush after each use, they do not recommend rinsing out your toothpaste-coated mouth if you want to get the full effects of its fluoride. Hear that, Mama? So many wasted years of hovering over me at the sink and yelling at me to "Spit! Spit!"
