Do you know how often I go to bed without brushing my teeth because I have fallen asleep on the couch, or stumbled home drunk, or am just flat out too lazy to go brush my teeth? Probably at least as often as I do gather the mental fortitude to drag myself into the bathroom and get 'er done. Maybe more often. Dude, don't tell me you don't have the same problem. Teeth brushing is a drag. Especially when your mama makes you use one of those electric toothbrushes that tickles your gums and makes it impossible to complete the process without flicking and drooling Crest Complete Extra Whitening all over your entire face. Blech! I'd usually rather just take my chances with tartar buildup and gum recession.

Anyway, Archtek's Toothpaste Tablets aren't a complete alternative to the horrors of bristles and paste-spewing tubes--you still have to brush when using them--but they do eliminate the mess and, for travelers, liquid classification of toothpaste. (They also gave me a decent-sized opening for the rant I was jonesing for today.) Toothpaste Tablets are chewable and Cool Mint in flavor. Like Tums for your teeth. Since they're not liquid or paste, they take up room in a 3-1-1 kits, plus serve as a lighter, less goopy, more sanitary, and greener option for campers and backpackers (Archtek's packaging is recyclable, while over 560 million toothpaste tubes are discarded each year).

Archtek Toothpaste Tablets come 60 to the bottle.
