About Get Some Jerky

UC Davis alums Alex Lane and Sarah Helleson began Get Some Jerky in an attempt to close the gap between snack cravings and beef jerky that doesn't taste like dried-out tree bark. They figured their best chance of eating healthy, appetizing, high-quality jerky was to make it themselves. Now with a booming local presence in Northern California and nationwide online sales, Lane and Helleson know others have smelled what they're curing, and agree there's no reason to settle for some jerky when you can Get Some Jerky.

Get Some's jerky begins as slabs of quality beef, produced locally in the areas surrounding Lane and Hellesen's Sacramento hometown. It promises never to be dry, tasteless, highly processed, or the equivalent of a horned turtle lumbering around in your small intestine. Currently, the jerky comes in 5 flavors, including:

• Black Label Whiskey Beef Jerky. Sweet, oaky, premium whiskey glazes Get Some Jerky's newest beef release, which is also flavored with brown sugar, soy and Worcestershire sauces, and liquid smoke.
• Inferno Beef Jerky. Chili pepper, garlic, and ginger ignite the taste buds, and then teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and pineapple juice level out the burn.
• Mesquite BBQ Beef Jerky. A smoky, tangy summer cookout in your mouth all year long.
• Peppercorn Beef Jerky. Classic beef brisket and snappy black peppercorns. Keep an eye on your left foot. It might kidnap your tongue out of desperation for a taste.
