Logitech MX Vertical Advanced Ergonomic Mouse
Logitech's MX Vertical mouse believes that some things are better experienced erect. And I agree! Though whether the self-described advanced ergonomic mouse is one of those things remains to be seen. At printing, the MX Vertical was a new release, and a critical mass of reviews had yet to come in.
From an observer's perspective, the mouse looks pleasant and comfortable to use. It also looks like maybe they hired someone with previous design experience in the sex toy industry to help create and mold its ergonomic shelves and curves. Logitech says placing your hand on the MX Vertical's 57-degree vertical angle should feel like a "natural handshake position." This prevents forearm twisting during use, and supposedly reduces muscle strain by 10%. Based on a Logitech study of Vertical v. Non-Vertical Mouse.
Is 10% worth buying a new mouse for?
From a performance standpoint, the MX Vertical excels with a 4000 DPI high-precision sensor that delivers ultra-efficient response times and precise tracking. Compared to a traditional 1000 DPI mouse the result should be around 4 times less hand movement required to complete the same tasks.
The vertical mouse is optionally wireless, and has a battery life of around months per full charge. And if your MX dies, you can give it a quick shot of juice at warp speed - 1 minute charging = 3 hours of use.
