PAC-MAN Tamagotchi
1980, meet 1996, meet 2020. PAC-MAN Tamagotchi has arrived. What does that mean? "PAC-MAN is helping to raise and nurture your Tamagotchi character!" Now, 5 years ago I would have laughed at that statement (and also wondered why the way-past trend I would want a Tamagotchi). But today, 3 things:
1. I'd trust PAC-MAN to be a nurturing authority about as much as anyone else out there currently raising kids and making decisions about what's best for them.
2. The idea of going back to a time of Tamagotchi fame, or even escaping into the nostalgia of the 90s and reliving them through a low-tech gadget, sounds pretty alright right now. I'd even take the Stock Market Crash of 2000 to the Book of Revelation that is 2020.
3. Now that I've tended to my mama's yard, researched and installed her pest repellers, and watched Hamilton, I really have nothing else to do this summer but raise a Tamagotchi. And getting PAC-MAN involved increases the digital embryo's appeal at least tenfold.
PAC-MAN slides into the Tamagotchi universe in a few charming ways. For example, at feeding time you'll nourish your Tama with PAC-MAN's favorite sustenance, cherries. And while trying to be a good parent who doesn't let their kiddo get axed, you'll have to call in PAC-MAN to help fight off ghost attacks. If your Tamagotchi reaches adulthood, you'll be rewarded with a surprise character, one of 7 adults built into the game.
