Van life is about to get a little more...Brady Bunch? Citroen plans to debut its Type H WildCamp camper van at the 2018 Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, and rather than design a vehicle body to match its 21st-century tech, the company is throwing it back to its original Type H van, which first hit the streets of France in 1947 (it was discontinued in 1981.)

The Type H WildCamp is not technically a new model from Citroen. Instead, it's a conversion of a Citroen Jumper van, created in partnership with Italy's Caselani Automobili. The fiberglass conversion kit...upgrades?...retrogrades?...the exterior of a new Jumpy into Type H tribute, if not an exact replica. The interior living area is also a conversion, this one courtesy of a Roadcamp R installation from Possl. It includes swiveling front seats and a two-seater bench, a kitchen module, a sleeping area for two, and some storage space for luggage and personal items.

WildCamp "guts" are still the Jumper's, and include ABS and brake assist, ESP including ASR with display, Hill Start Assist, and height-adjustable Captain Chair seats with armrests and lumbar support.

At this point, Citroen is not planning to send the WildCamp to the production line, but will take individual orders from anyone wanting to spend an ungodly amount of money on a van that kinda looks like the ones a lot of the homeless people in my city are living in these days.

Muchas danke to Bless This Stuff.
