Giveaway: Tactile Turn Metal Pen Set
So what if I still scrawl like a 5-year-old, and am so unaccustomed to hand writing stuff anymore that my hand cramps after 3 minutes of holding a pen? I still love them. And steal them from every hotel, restaurant, and upper level management's office I enter. Here's your chance to steal some too. Though by "steal" I mean "win if randomly drawn", and by "some" I mean "5 exceptional custom machined metal pens ranging in material from raw aluminum to pure titanium". Enter to win a set of smooth, slick, not-just-another-Bic pens from Tactile Turn (a $505 value)!
This giveaway is open to all residents, US & international.
About the Tactile Turn Metal Pen Set
Tactile Turn's set of custom machined click pens comes from the company's Mover series. Each of the 5 is made from a different high-quality metal so you'll be able to match your pen's style, weight, and finish to your changing writing, sketching, or showing off to your friend Cornelius needs. All Mover pens have a custom lay pattern for grip and comfort and, according to Tactile Turn maestro Will Hodges, a nearly silent click mechanism "that won't annoy the hell out of your friends and coworkers." Mover clips are made from 301 spring steel and measure 5.55" long x 0.46" in diameter at their widest point. Each comes with a Pilot G2 (0.388mm, blank ink) refill, though the pens will accept other brands too (see full list here).
Pens in the Tactile Turn Giveaway set include:
Raw Aluminum Mover (retail $69). The lightest of all of TT's metals, this one works best for love letters, rants to the airlines, and anything else that will have you writing for a long time. Still a bit heavier than plastic pens at 1.12 ounces, the Aluminum Mover has a sold, built-to-last feel and 7075 aluminum body.
Polished Brass Mover (retail $79). Brass like your belt buckle. Brass like your knuckles. The Brass Mover is made of 360 brass and weighs 2.39 ounces. It's hefty and eye-catching, with a hand-polish job completed before final assembly. As with most of Tactile Turn's pens, the Brass Mover will require periodic polishing if you're not into the tarnished look.
Polished Copper Mover (retail $99). The red hue of this pen will patina quickly, and change to a unique marbling if not polished regularly. Hodges notes that the copper will not smell on its own, but a reaction with salt from sweaty hands could create the metallic odor, so don't use this one after the gym or with shaky hands when that smokin' hot Wonder Women asks for your number at Comic-Con. Body is made from 145 copper, total weight is 2.51 ounces.
Polished Bronze Mover (retail $119). Tough, durable, and fairly rare for a pen choice. The Bronze Mover will resist patina more than copper and brass, and is on par with titanium in strength. Made of 954 bronze, with a total weight of 2.17 ounces.
Titanium Mover (retail $139). The grand poobah of this pen set's metals. Slightly heavier than the aluminum Mover, but much lighter than the others. It won't patina at all, and is extremely resistant to corrosion. Body is made from grade 2 titanium, and total weight is 1.48 ounces.
