About Leaux Racing Trikes
Further proving the magnitude of awesomeness Vader and Luke could have achieved together had they been on the same Side, father and son Tyler Hadzicki (student; 18 years old) and Joe Hadzicki (engineer; age of a dad) conceived, designed, and patented their Leaux trikes over the course of 3 years. Previously called ONDA Cycles, they took the concept to Kickstarter in April 2013, and walked away with 300+% funding for their campaign. Now Tyler, a self-described stuff builder, has carried the Leaux brand into full production.
Leaux Racing Trikes are essentially recumbent stunt bikes/trikes that can also be used as legitimate man-powered transport. So in addition to using one in wide open spaces with plenty of room for spinning and drifting and accumulating Brazilian model spectators at the periphery, you could also Leaux commute to work.
A minimalist design of a seat, 3 wheels, front and rear handlebars, and a wheel lock comprise the major components of each Leaux Racing Trike. Its front wheel and handlebars enable basic steering like a regular recumbent bike, while smaller back swivel wheels add to the bike's repertoire of moves. A rear handle controls the latter, promising precise steering and trick execution, while the trike's wheel lock freezes its back wheels in a forward-facing position during basic rides and downhill adventures to preclude spinning out at high speeds.
Check out the Leaux in action in the video above. Note: The action starts at 1:20.
Each Leaux Racing Trike includes the following:
- A machined, anodized aluminum rear-wheel steering handle.
- A 16" aluminum rim and heavy-tread rubber tire.
- A wheel locking handle.
- A Leatherette seat.
- Motorcycle-inspired forks for strength.
- Steel tubing for rugged durability.
- A coaster brake activated by pedaling backwards.
- 3:1 gearing ratio for speed.
- Freewheel hub for comfortable coasting.
