Ahhh, nothing better than getting out of the city in the summer. Nothing more relaxing than a few days in the mountains, a trip to a national park, an RV adventure to wherever the winding road takes you. These days, as the Zero Breeze Mark 2 AC brings to mind, nothing hotter than those better and more relaxing activities either. I used to think tents made the perfect dutch ovens only in the farting sense, but now, yeesh. Every time I go to sleep in one I worry I'll wake up a pile of slow-roasted meat falling off the bone.

Zero Breeze's Mark 2 is a portable air conditioner made especially for off-grid encounters with excessive heat. The unit is battery-powered, and can operate with your own 24V battery supply, or one of Zero Breeze's (no generator required) to cool surrounding spaces by up to 30 degrees F for 3 to 5 hours.

The Mark 2 AC uses a built-in 24V adaptive frequency micro compressor to achieve 2300 BTU of output, consuming just 240W of power in the process. That, according to Zero Breeze, is about a fifth of the power consumption of standard air conditioners. Further if you use a Zero Breeze battery to drive the AC, it attaches directly to the unit, so you'll end up with a single device you can lift with one hand and easily move to the area you want to cool off.

Zero Breeze sells Mark 2 off-grid AC packages with and without their branded 24V battery. Air conditioning units have 4 function modes - Cool, Fan, Sleep, and Rocket - and 4 wind speeds. They weigh 16.5 pounds.
